Upcycled cotton cores make these pads super sustainable and absorbent.
What are the pads made of? :
Topper fabric is cotton. Core fabric is one layer of upcycled terry and one layer of upcycled cotton flannel. Upcycled fabrics are thoroughly washed and inspected before use. Being upcycled makes them uber absorbent straight away , unlike new materials that take many washes to get them up to full absorbency. Backing fabric is polyester fleece which is what makes them moisture resistant but also breathable. The texture of the fleece also minimises the pad shifting about in your underwear.
How do you wash them?:
A cold rinse first. Then your normal washing routine, and an optional stain remover of your choice. Wash before first use. I use washable fabric pen and sometimes washable glue stick in the production of my pads.
How many do I need?:
Think about the number of pads that you use within your cycle, and then how many times you want to wash them during your cycle. If you usually use 14 and want to wash just once at the end, then you will want roughly 14 pads; half that if you wish to wash twice.
Just having a couple of pads will dramatically reduce the amount of plastic and waste that you are putting into the environment, start with a few and add to your stash as you can afford it.
